You are invited to participate in the Pretty Heroes Starlight! Idol Showcase on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre! The idol showcase is open to individuals or groups who wish to show off their j/k-pop or idol-themed performances.
The deadline to apply is July 6th.
Please submit a separate application for each song you/your group wishes to perform.
Please review the following details below before submitting your application:
A MAXIMUM OF 3 DANCES PER PERFORMER/GROUP
We want to provide the opportunity to perform to as many idol groups as possible and, while we’re excited to see your group perform, we want to make sure we have time for everyone. If your application is accepted, you will be notified how many songs you are approved to perform.
Note: We will not accept repeat songs from the previous year’s showcase.
ALL PERFORMERS MUST BE REGISTERED ATTENDEES OF THE CONVENTION
All participants must have valid admission to Pretty Heroes in order to participate in the idol showcase (Saturday or weekend admission). Admission to the convention can be purchased on the Pretty Heroes website, any place where the Pretty Heroes team is doing promotion, or at the registration desk during the convention.
PERFORMANCES MUST NOT EXCEED A PG-13 RATING
The Pretty Heroes convention and the Japanese Canadian Cultural Centre are family friendly spaces. Please ensure that you follow the dress code listed at prettyheroes.com/faq
GROUPS MUST BE LIMITED TO 9 OR LESS PERFORMERS
Performers are limited in order to make sure performers have adequate room to move safely.
MUSIC MUST BE SUBMITTED IN MP3 FORMAT IN ADVANCE
Music must also be edited to the exact start and stop time of your group’s performance. Instructions for submitting your music will be provided upon review/approval of your application. Failure to submit music in advance may result in your removal from the showcase.
A REHEARSAL MAY BE REQUESTED TO BE SUBMITTED IN ADVANCE
Successful applicants may need submit a performance rehearsal recording for each approved dance at least one week in advance. This is to ensure performances are showcase ready. (This mostly applies to performers we have not worked with previously).
APPLICATION DETAILS
Please submit a separate application for each song you/your group wishes to perform.
Although we would like to approve all applications, due to time restrictions, unfortunately not every application may be approved. Priority may be given to:
- Group dances
- Short version options of songs (e.g. the 2 minute version of “Sweet & Sweet” versus the 4:19)
- The order in which applications are received
Applicants will be contacted to confirm final song approvals and to receive more details about the participation in the showcase.
