Tracey Hoyt – Guest of Honour

Tracey started her voice career by doing live phoned-in character work for CIUT radio and radio dramas on CBC Radio. Her animation career began when she landed recurring roles on the first English dubs of Japanese anime projects like Sailor Moon, Keroppi and Friends and Knights of the Zodiac. Tracey later originated characters on projects like Delilah and Julius, The Care Bears Big Wish Movie, and The Cat in The Hat Knows a Lot About That! She has voiced hundreds of radio and TV commercials and has narrated the audiobooks The Moment by Andrea Constand (Penguin Random House) and No Good Asking by Fran Kimmel (ECW Press). Tracey was proud to direct broadcaster Mary Ito’s beautiful narration of Joy Kogawa’s novel Obasan (Penguin Random House).

After teaching improv extensively at The Second City Training Centre and Gilda’s Club Greater Toronto, Tracey created ran the commercial voiceover training program Pirate Voice at Pirate Sound. She now guides emerging and established voice talent through her own company Tracey Hoyt Coaching & Direction. A proud member of ACCE – the Association of Acting and Coaching Educators in Canada – Tracey has been a frequent Guest Artist and Master instructor of Voiceover for ACTRA Toronto, Grenfell Theatre (MUN), the Graduate Program at U of T and for the Humber College Schools of Comedy and Broadcasting.

She is currently writing a comic play called Harts Crossing, which features an offstage character with serious voiceover ambitions.
