The day her family moved into a brand new home, two-year-old Pufferdoodles found a permanent Sharpie marker and drew a three-foot high snowman on the kitchen floor. As her mother frantically scrubbed it clean, little Puff cried, thinking her mother didn’t like her art work. This was not the case at all.
However, it was not long before Pufferdoodles’ parents had to hide anything that could be used to write on walls. Paper would not do for Pufferdoodles. She wanted to go big, she wanted to make murals. She discovered even the figures from Little People could be rubbed on a wall to draw, when all other implements were out of reach. She was unstoppable.
She grew up with a love of reading, and this included both manga as well as traditional comic books. She read classics in both genres — and she feels that Sailor Moon certainly qualifies as classic! She loved watching anime from a young age as well and stepped into the cosplay community when she was 13 years old.
Her father was her handler from day one, carrying her bags and standing back to keep a close eye on her with a name badge that read “Overprotective Father.” She first appeared as Misa from DeathNote, then quickly caught the cosplay bug and began crafting more costumes. She’s been Rikku from Final Fantasy, Boa Hancock from One Piece, and Jinx from League of Legends.
Her passion for cosplay evolved into a love of prop making. She’s particularly delighted with her version of Jinx’s Fishbones. Puff is always looking at everyday objects with an eye to how she might transform it into cosplay.
Cosplay highlights for Pufferdoodles include being recognized by: Arda Wigs, Jinx’s creator, and League of Legends. She’s enjoyed modelling for brands like Pink City, Triple Fortune, Hendrix Roe, Narces, and Racoon Guts.
She attended art school for a year to study sequential art and continues to attend many conventions in the GTA, both as a cosplayer and an artist.
